Pick n Pay (PIK) yesterday revealed the new brand for its Project Red stores, namely “Qualisave”. Six stores have been upgraded to the new PnP Qualisave format already (as well as four PnP Blue stores). Management said they are moving at a fast pace and are targeting upgrades to 40 stores by the end of August, of which about half would be PnP Qualisave stores. The Qualisave revamp will make them easily distinguishable from Pick n Pay stores, and will include a new store layout, distinctive in-store signage, and a product range aimed at the middle-market shopper, according to management.
