Group GPM decreased by 120bps to 22.3%.
Expenses to sales constant at 25.6%.
OPM decreased by 130bps to 4.9%.
Dividend of 23.2cps.
Revenue growth from the Retail segment (+8.1% y-y) was impacted by the lower Covid-19 vaccine administration and testing services compared to the prior period. If the Covid-19 vaccine and testing contribution is excluded from both periods, Retail revenue grew by 9.2% y-y.
10 retail pharmacy stores were opened or acquired, resulting in 268 retail pharmacy stores and 54 retail baby stores in the group.
Wholesale revenue to independent pharmacies and The Local Choice (TLC) franchises grew by 19.1% y-y, supported by increased TLC franchise stores from 153 to 180.
In October 2023, the purchase of the 63 000m2 DC in Gauteng was approved by the Competition Commission for the purchase consideration of R502m.
