We compare the contrasting 2Q20 job loss figures of Stats SA’s Quarterly Employment Statistics (QES) and Quarterly Labour Force Survey (LFS) which reported 648 000 and 2.2 million job losses, respectively for the period. Understanding the differences between the two surveys allows us to gain more insight into the significant job losses that occurred following the lockdown.
