Metair (MTA) FY24 – Results Snapshot

FY23 restated due to the sale of Mutlu Aku.
Diluted HEPS -201.0cps (FY23 restated: 132.7cps).
Turnover decreased by 2.0% y-y to R11 819m, FY23 restated to R12 056m.
GPM improved from 11.9% to 12.3%.
Expenses increased by 18.9% y-y while expense-to-sales increased from 8.7% to 10.6%.
OPM decreased by 100bps to 4.3%.
No dividend.
Cash generated from operating activities improved from R148m to R202m.
Profit from cont. ops. of R281m (FY23: R54m). Loss from discontinuing ops. of -R4 436m (FY23: R74m) impacted net profit for the year.
The group acquired AutoZone for an aggregate amount of R278.5m. A bargain purchase gain of R195m was realised (non-HEPs and non-cash). This includes 120 Battery Centre outlets, 213 AutoZone retail stores, and 8 QSV wholesale branches.
