Sun International (SUI) 1H25 – Results Snapshot

Diluted HEPS 305.0cps (+59.7 y-y). DHEPS was significantly impacted by the Dreams S.A. contingent consideration in the prior year (R400m). This year the impact was R52m.
Net Income increased by 3.2% y-y to R6 189m. Turnover from net gaming wins increased by 6.4% y-y to R4 937m. Turnover from other revenue decreased by 7.8% y-y to R1 252m.
Expenses increased by 5.6% y-y while expense-to-sales increased from 80.1% to 82.0%.
OPM decreased by 190bps to 18.0%.
Cash generated from operating activities down 21.6% y-y to R1 343m. Dividend of 172.0cps (1H24: 161.0cps).
Sunbet group income up 70.7% y-y to R874m, driven by a 128.7% y-y increase in slots income. Underpinned by unique active players up 70.6% y-y, first-time depositors up 43.5% y-y, and deposits up 105.2% y-y.
The decline in casino income (-1.4% y-y to R3.2bn) at SUI’s land-based operations was driven by a combination of a lower conversion of footfall into the casinos, operational inefficiencies in the tables and uncaptured opportunities in floor optimisation and machine mix.
