We were intrigued by management comments about shifting more sourcing to SA, and in this note we demonstrate the benefits of such a strategy in relation to ZAR weakness. We caution though that high future wage increases or low productivity could potentially negate any ZAR weakness-shielding benefits of local sourcing.
