In our weekly updates, we summarise key statistics in the spread of Covid-19 in South Africa. South Africa recorded 3 559 230 cumulative Covid-19 infections as at 16 January (+0.9% increase from 3 526 054 infections on 9 January), of which 3 371 004 are recoveries and 94 862 are active cases (from 146 649 active cases on 9 January). The recovery rate is currently 94.4%.
